I have said it before and I will say it again, each firing we have produces more beautiful work. This firing was especially special for two reasons. The first being an introduction to my new double walled forms. I have doubled walled pots with decorative holes in them which feel amazing to hold and I have a few double walled undulating forms. The second reason this was an exciting firing was that I am bringing back an old series entitled Kohaku. This series is named after the koi which is a fish having a white body with red markings. I will be slowing down on my Ocean series and be replacing it with Kohaku for a few firings. This firing got hot, some of the pots have a slight wobble to their foot. I generally don't like flatting the bottom because the foot has character that elevates the movement of the pot.
